Crab bee hoon delivery in Singapore: what to know first

What delivery means here
Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab delivers across Singapore, but the delivery itself is carried out by third-party drivers such as Grab, Lalamove and GoGoX. The ordering site says these deliveries run on a non-guaranteed timeslot basis, so extra lead time may be needed, and it strongly recommends picking up your order instead.
That recommendation matters more for crab soup than for most food. A bowl of soup with a whole crab in it loses heat quickly and can slosh in transit, and the broth is meant to be served piping hot. We would rather say so plainly than promise otherwise. For a hot soup, the route we suggest is pickup.
The rules, in short
- Notice. Pre-order online at least a day ahead for whole-crab dishes; same-day availability at the counter depends on the day’s crab. The flower-crab seafood sets need three hours.
- Fee. Based on distance. Festive periods and certain locations add surcharges. The ordering site shows the figure for your address.
- Surcharge locations. The kitchen lists Sentosa, Tuas, Changi Airport, Lim Chu Kang, the CBD, and malls and offices that charge for parking or have no direct lift access.
- Floors above ground. Addresses above ground need lift access.
- Time. You cannot pick an exact delivery time.
- Payment. At the time of ordering, on the ordering site.
- After you order. No changes or cancellations after confirmation, and no refund or replacement if you miss the delivery.

What we cannot tell you yet
Two things are not published, and we will not guess.
- Whether every crab dish is offered for delivery, as opposed to pickup. The ordering site shows crab dishes only after you choose an outlet, so check the basket for your address.
- How to reheat crab soup at home. The kitchen has published reheating advice for its pies, not for the soup. We have listed this as a question for the kitchen.
If you reheat it anyway
The kitchen’s own advice is to eat on the day of purchase, within four hours, as the Singapore Food Agency recommends. If a delivery arrives lukewarm, bring the broth to a gentle simmer in a pot, add the crab and bee hoon just long enough to warm through, and serve it hot. Do not keep cooked crab for later, and do not reheat the same soup twice. These are standard food-safety practices, not the kitchen’s instructions.

How much is the delivery fee?
It is based on distance, with surcharges at festive periods and for some locations. We do not quote a flat fee or a free-delivery threshold for crab, because the kitchen's pages do not agree on one. The ordering site shows the live fee.
Can I choose a delivery time?
Not an exact one. The kitchen's FAQ says you cannot choose an exact delivery time. If timing matters, choose pickup, and arrange your own driver if you wish.
Can I order crab by GrabFood or Foodpanda?
The kitchen's product pages mention partner platforms for immediate delivery, picking the nearest outlet. Which crab dishes appear there, and at what price, we have not been able to confirm. The AMK Hub kiosk's crab is the Soup and Laksa only.
How do I reheat crab soup at home?
The kitchen has not published reheating instructions for the crab soup. The kitchen says to consume products on the day of purchase, within four hours as recommended by the Singapore Food Agency. If you must reheat, bring it gently to a simmer and serve it piping hot; see the cautions below.
