How much is crab bee hoon in Singapore? A dated price guide
Every number has a date, a source and a caveat.
Quick answer
Published round-ups put typical crab bee hoon at about $90 to $150 per kg at zi char restaurants (HungryGoWhere, June 2026), and many places quote only a seasonal price. Our kitchen sells fixed-size bowls: Regular $39.80, Medium $58.80, Large $73.80, XL $88.80 and XL+ $128.80, as of October 2026. Prices change, so every figure here is dated.
Two ways crab bee hoon is priced
By weight, usually at a zi char restaurant. You pick a crab, it is weighed, and the price is per kilogram, often “seasonal” or “market”. The final bill depends on the crab’s weight, so two tables can pay very differently.
By fixed size, as at our kitchen. You pick Regular, Medium, Large, XL or XL+ and know the price before you order. That is easier to plan, but you cannot choose a particular crab by weight.
Neither is cheaper in general. They answer different questions: “what will this crab cost?” and “what will tonight cost?”

Prices in Singapore dollars as of October 2026. Weights are the bands the kitchen prints on its menu; it has not said whether they are live or cooked crab weight.

What other places print, with dates
These are figures from published round-ups. We have not checked any restaurant’s current price, and several print only “seasonal” or “market” price.
| Source and date | What it printed |
|---|---|
| HungryGoWhere, 1 Jun 2026 | A typical crab bee hoon in Singapore runs about $90 to $150 per kg. Several entries print “seasonal price” or “market price”. |
| HungryGoWhere, 1 Jun 2026 | HolyCrab: $108 per kg plus $12 per preparation. Red House: from $188 per crab plus $12 for vermicelli. 8 Crabs: soup from $90.90. |

Treat these as a snapshot, not a quote. Some are three years old.
Our own price history
The Regular soup has risen in price since 2022. The table shows each dated source.

| 2017 | Toa Payoh stall (SethLui list) | $20 | Eatbook, 4 Apr 2017: cheese and laksa crab bee hoon $25; crab prices $25 to $65 by size |
| 16 Dec 2022 | SethLui (partnership post) | $33.80 (350g to 400g) | An XXL at $108.80 |
| 20 Apr 2023 | ieatishootipost (partnership post) | not stated | Medium $53.80 |

| 8 Oct 2026 | Kitchen ordering system | $39.80 | XL+ $128.80 |
Between December 2022 and February 2026 the Regular rose by $6.00, and between April 2023 and February 2026 the Medium rose by $5.00. We do not use the 2017 prices, which belong to a Toa Payoh coffee-shop stall that has closed. Where that stall went explains why old listings still show them.
What to compare
If you are comparing us with a per-kg restaurant, put a number on the crab, not just on the bowl: ask for the crab weight, whether it is live or cooked, whether the price includes bee hoon, and what is added for service and tax. Our weights are printed as bands and the kitchen has not said whether they are live or cooked, so a direct per-kg comparison is not yet possible. See sizes and portions.
Delivery and extras
Delivery has a fee by distance, and some places carry surcharges; read crab bee hoon delivery. The ordering site lists a Bee Hoon and Soup top-up at $8.80, a metal crab cracker at $5.80 and container extras from $0.80. All are as of October 2026. For a list of other places with sources, see our disclosed guide, and for the full menu, menu and prices.
Questions people ask
Why do restaurants say 'seasonal price'?
Crab prices move with supply, so many zi char restaurants quote a market or seasonal price instead of a fixed one. Round-ups in 2023 and 2026 print those words for several restaurants.
Is the price per kg or per bowl at your kitchen?
Per bowl, in five sizes. Each size carries a printed crab weight band (350g to 800g for Regular to XL). The kitchen has not said whether the weights are live or cooked.
Do your prices include service charge and tax?
The kitchen's menu header says dine-in prices are subject to service charge and prevailing tax. Delivery has its own fee by distance.
Is the cheese crab from $39.80?
No. A June 2026 round-up printed 'from S$39.80', but the kitchen says Cheese Crab Bee Hoon starts at Medium, $58.80 as of October 2026. See cheese crab bee hoon.
